Scott

Senior Consultant

Scott is an accomplished cyber and financial crimes specialist with two decades of experience and a deep understanding of the convergence between cyber-attacks and financial crime. As a Senior Consultant at Digital Resilience, he helps organisations manage interconnected risks and designs cyber security scenarios that stress-test response capability for large-scale fraud and extortion events.

At Bendigo Bank, Scott transformed the financial crimes strategy by modernising real time data, detection and notification systems, operational processes, reporting, and human capability to address increasingly complex threats. At Westpac, he focused on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing operations and played a key role in investigating one of Australia’s most significant corporate fraud cases. He also collaborated with industry stakeholders to design fraud detection solutions for the New Payments Platform and Open Banking.

Scott’s expertise spans anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing, scams, application fraud, third-party fraud, and electronic fraud. His “beyond-tech” approach recognises the strong linkages between cyber security, anti-fraud, and AML programs, and the need for integrated people, process, and technology controls.

A respected leader, Scott has a long track record of constructive engagement with law enforcement and regulators. He is well regarded within the financial crimes community and has represented banks at local and national forums as a trusted subject matter expert.
