Kao is a highly skilled cyber security expert whose academic and practical capabilities underpin her value to Digital Resilience clients.

Kao’s experience spans banking and finance, superannuation and health insurance. This includes helping a bank remediate its security control gaps and weaknesses in response to their Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority Tripartite Cyber Security Review and conducting many Essential Eight Maturity Assessments. Kao is also adept at guiding organisations to mature their mitigating control strategies in line with the Essential Eight Model.

Her understanding of regulatory standards and guidelines is strong. She specialises in Risk Management, Outsourcing and Business Continuity Management, and applies information security regulatory standards practically and proportionately. Consistent with Digital Resilience culture, Kao is committed to continuous learning and growth for herself and students as an occasional guest speaker for UniSA.

Kao holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (Networking and Cybersecurity) from the University of South Australia, Certificate IV in Cyber Security from TAFE SA and is Certified In Cybersecurity from ISC2 (CC).

Outside of work, Kao is an avid gamer, book reader and miniature painter. She also loves spending time with her 3 kids and long-term partner.
